The War on Truth

In today's edition of the war on truth, the term "chickenshit" has now been redefined as unwilling to sell out one's own country for the plaudits of foreigners. On the other hand, non-"aspergery" people show their amazing social savvy by ignoring the will of their own people in order to serve the supposed best interests of another people, thousands of miles away.

As President Obama said just recently,
"We have to keep in mind that if we're discouraging our health care workers, who are prepared to make these sacrifices, from traveling to these places in need, then we're not doing our job in terms of looking after our own public health and safety,"
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Are you picking up shades of "We have to fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here"? You know, as the Daily Kos put it back in 2006, the Bush Administration's "New Big Fib©" and "fable"?

Like in the case of Bush's magically relocated war, this administration is trying to force our hand by giving us two false alternatives. No, with thousands of miles of sea separating America from the Old World, along with unchangeable naval and aerial superiority, we don't have to fight any battle here that we don't want to. All we have to do is close our borders and grant others that same sovereignty.

However, what would be the point for our rulers to enjoy a victory in the war on domestic Ebola, or the war or terror? Why would they want to win those battles, if it might detract from the War on Truth. And what about the casualties we'll face in the meantime? Well, we have reserves.
